ABOUT THE JOB 

Anduril is hiring for a Second Shift Manufacturing Engineer in its Morrisville NC facility.  This position is Monday – Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM nominally.  As a Manufacturing Engineer for rocket motor programs, you will ensure the technical execution of manufacturing rocket motor cases and nozzles.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Interface with systems and design engineers on design for manufacturability. 

  • Design and lead the manufacture of tooling for molded insulation parts. 

  • Write work instructions for filament winding, hand layup molding, hydraulic press molding, machining, and assembly of rocket motor cases and nozzles. 

  • Identify and document non-conformances and drive them through disposition and closure. 

  • Collaborate with M&P Engineers to develop new materials and processes, including creating and executing test plans and analyzing test results. 

  • Develop process specifications and test campaigns to standardize manufacturing processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time on site in Anduril’s Morrisville NC site

  • 2nd shift full time, M-F 3:00 – 11:30 PM (overtime exempt)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar

  • 0-2 in manufacture of molded rubber parts, carbon phenolic parts, filament winding, composites, or aerospace manufacturing generally

  • Expertise in modeling parts and tooling in CAD

  • Experience in a CAD PLM environment

  • Experience in designing and working with molds made from a variety of materials, and a thorough understanding of tradeoffs in material selection

  • Strength in skills that support working in fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary teams, to include collaboration, decision analysis, and objective-focus

  • Experience in building, fabricating, or machining, either professionally, in academic project work, or hobbies

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Siemens Nx CAD experience

  • Experience manufacturing using filament winders, autoclaves, lathes, mills, and hydraulic presses

  • Experience in a digitally connected manufacturing environment (PLM, ERP, ERP, WMS)

  • Strong interpersonal skills

 

US Salary Range
$99,000$131,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
