Formulation Scientist

Position Summary: Swindon, 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday.

As a Formulation Scientist, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to support the development of new Zydis® products. Working within New Product Development (NPD), you will assist with formulation batch preparation, testing, data reporting, and participation in customer project teams, with support from experienced colleagues.

You will play an active role in laboratory‑based activities supporting feasibility, formulation development, GMP manufacture for clinical and stability studies, and ongoing project delivery. This role offers strong development opportunities within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

The Role:

• Conducting feasibility and formulation studies under supervision
• Supporting preparation and manufacture of GMP batches for clinical and stability studies
• Carrying out batch evaluation, physical testing, and product characterisation
• Compiling, reviewing, and data‑checking experimental results and technical reports
• Maintaining laboratory supplies, equipment, and conducting routine compliance checks
• Supporting shipment of materials to customers in line with H&S procedures
• Providing laboratory and resource support across NPD to meet critical project milestones
• Communicating formulation data to internal stakeholders and customers, with guidance

The Candidate:

• MSc/BSc in Scientific subject or equivalent technical knowledge
• A methodical approach to laboratory work and strong attention to detail
• The ability to plan and prioritise day‑to‑day activities to meet project milestones
• Awareness of data integrity, regulatory compliance, and documentation standards
• A flexible, proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, quality, and safety
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
