We are looking for a dedicated EU Lead Product Environmental Compliance for our office in Berlin.
Would you like to play an active role in shaping sustainable product development and driving compliance with future environmental requirements at the European level? In this key role, you will be responsible for implementing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), and regulatory requirements, working closely with international departments and external partners.
Job Description:
- Cross-functional stakeholder management; align Sales, Purchasing, R&D, Manufacturing, and Environmental teams; manage consultants, verifiers, and suppliers; build internal awareness of EPD requirements, costs, and resources.
- Resolve IT landscape data gaps, validate data accuracy, and manage changes across systems to ensure traceability.
- Coordinate on-ground assessments to verify component data and production inputs.
- Partner with suppliers and key accounts to secure high-quality LCI data.
- Lead EPD/LCI processes, centralize expertise, and streamline workflows via scalable approaches (e.g., product line extrapolation).
- Monitor EU LCA/EPD regulations and country-specific requirements; ensure continuous compliance and market readiness.
- Internal request for LCAs (attributional/consequential) originating from different teams.
- Develop product data structures and circularity indicators to support ESPR/DPP/battery regulation requirements such as repairability, recyclability, recycled content, and lifecycle transparency.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product sustainability, LCA, EPD, environmental compliance, or product stewardship.
- Strong hands-on expertise in LCA/LCI and EPD methodologies, with practical knowledge of key standards and frameworks such as ISO 14040/44, ISO 14025, EN 15804+A2, EF 3.1, and related product environmental assessment requirements.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional product data programs, aligning internal and external stakeholders to deliver traceable, audit-ready environmental data.
- Experience with supplier engagement and primary data collection, including LCI data requests, data quality checks, field validation, gap remediation, and negotiation with suppliers or key accounts.
- Strong regulatory and market-readiness mindset, with the ability to monitor EU and country-specific environmental requirements, translate them into internal processes, and scale EPD/LCA workflows across product lines.
- Basic understanding of DPP, ESPR, battery regulation and circularity requirements.
Vergütungsspanne
