A Day in the Life

As an Advanced Analytics Analyst – Power BI / Power Apps in the Reporting, Analytics & Insights (RAI) COE within Global Finance at Medtronic, you will have an opportunity to contribute to the world’s largest medical device company. This dynamic role within a multicultural environment fosters career growth and is critical to driving digital transformation and operational excellence across financial operations.
You will work closely with Finance, Data Science, and Engineering teams to develop interactive visualizations that drive data accessibility. This role requires an average of 3-4 days per week of overlapping work hours with the U.S. team to ensure seamless collaboration.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Integrate AI capabilities into Power Platform solutions, such as embedding Copilot, AI Builder, or custom ML APIs within Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate to enable intelligent workflows, natural language insights, and automated decision support.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with finance analysts, business users, and data teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure output meets business objectives.
  • Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, usability, and performance optimization
  • Power Apps Solutions: Build and deploy Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven) to streamline financial processes, enable workflow automation, and enhance user experience.
  • Automation & Integration: Leverage Power Automate and integrations with systems such as SAP, Snowflake, and other enterprise platforms to enable end-to-end process automation.
  • Data Modeling & Transformation: Work with large datasets, design data models, and perform data transformations to enable efficient reporting and analytics
  • Drive Efficiency & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance finance processes through automation, standardization, and self-service analytics.
  • Ad hoc Analysis & Insights: Provide timely and actionable insights through custom analysis and reporting to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Governance & Best Practices: Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and Power Platform best practices, including documentation and version control.
  • Continuous Reflection: Evaluate team processes and solutions to improve business partnering impact and increase efficiency across finance operations .

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Must have 4–8 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization design)
  • Experience building solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Strong understanding of financial data and reporting requirements
    Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, OneStream, and advanced Excel
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL, Python, or R for data analysis
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Positive and motivated approach to tasks and relationship building with both the RAI team and business stakeholders
  • Expertise in designing intuitive dashboards and user-centric applications
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; adept at multitasking and adapting to shifting priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for automation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement
