About the Role

As an Accounting Manager at Minnesota Cannabis Services, you will oversee the full accounting cycle across a complex, multi-entity corporate structure spanning multiple states and an international jurisdiction. Working from our Edina, MN headquarters, you will own financial reporting, general ledger management, multi-entity consolidations, tax compliance, and transfer pricing documentation for 20+ entities—including LLCs, C-Corps, LLPs, and single-member LLCs—all governed by GAAP standards.

This is a senior-level accounting role for a CPA-caliber professional who thrives on complexity, takes ownership of accuracy, and wants to build the accounting infrastructure for one of the most sophisticated multi-state cannabis operators in the country.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting across 20+ entities with varying tax structures 
  • Supervise a team of consisting of a treasury manager and staff accountants
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP for the entire corporate group.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting including transfer pricing entries, elimination journals, and reconciliation of intercompany balances across holding companies and operating entities.
  • Manage multi-state tax compliance including estimated payments, annual filings, and IRS 280E cost-of-goods-sold calculations for cannabis operations.
  • Maintain transfer pricing documentation aligned with established TP percentages and coordinate with external tax advisors on export services compliance.
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting across all entities.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax return preparation, and lender reporting requirements 
  • Prepare management reports, variance analyses, and financial dashboards for executive leadership and ownership.
  • Partner with Treasury, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate financial records and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, transfer pricing principles, and multi-state tax requirements
  • Experience with IRS 280E or cannabis industry accounting a significant plus
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas
  • Ability to work 100% in-office Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at our Edina, MN location

  • Must pass background check per state regulations
