We are searching for the best talent for a Manager, Transcend R&D BPO Advanced Therapies  role in Beerse, Belgium or U.S. (Malvern, PA, Spring House, PA, Horsham, PA).

Purpose:

 

Innovative Medicine Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize foundational Supply Chain processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform (SAP S/4HANA) to enable growth and efficiency gains. 

The program will simplify the Pharm ERP landscape from 7 to 1 by standardizing processes to create a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose digital backbone that enables the Pharm business to operate with agility.  

R&D is an integral part of the IM Transcend program, transforming and standardizing relevant R&D Supply Chain processes and incorporating them into the global IM Transcend template. 

The Transcend R&D program team is looking for a Transcend R&D Business Process Owner (BPO), Advanced Therapies. As the Advanced Therapies BPO, you define and evolve future-state, value-driven end-to-end (E2E) processes within R&D in scope of Advanced Therapies.  

Together with key R&D stakeholders, you identify business value and future needs to prioritize roadmap decisions. You partner with the business to stay ahead of change and ensure alignment to the global template, clean core principles, and regulatory expectations. 

This position reports to the Transcend R&D BPO Lead. 

You will be responsible for: 

• Own the R&D Advanced Therapies process roadmap by translating R&D business strategies into prioritized capabilities aligned with Transcend template and design decisions. 

• Define future capabilities and requirements for R&D to support Cell & Genes, including clear value hypotheses and success measures. 

• Partner with the Transcend Global Template Owner to translate capabilities into the SAP template, drive harmonization and standardization across R&D, and support business sign-off on key process outcomes. 

• Drive cross-functional convergence across Innovative Medicine Supply Chain and R&D TDS by aligning priorities across functions on the future process, associated value, and value realization approach. 

• Lead R&D global process governance decision forum within the scope of Advanced Therapies  

• Drive continuous improvement post go-live by tracking process performance and partnering on actions to improve outcomes. 

 

Approximate Percentage of Time & Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities: 

• 40%  Business strategy , capability roadmaps  

• 30% Global process ownership and governance 

• 15%  Value realization identification and planning   

• 10%  Continuous improvements  

• 5%  Compliance and audits  

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. 

• 8+ years of R&D or Supply Chain leadership experience (preferably in Advanced Therapies). 

• Proven results as a global BPO and/or transformation leader. 

• Experience in business value realization and measurement. 

• Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to translate strategy into actionable priorities. 

• Experience defining a business roadmap based on template capabilities offered (current and future). 

• Strong knowledge of regulated environments 

• Strong communication skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• SAP S/4HANA experience (make, logistics, master data). 

• SAP data objects related to core manufacturing processes. 

• Knowledge of integrations with MES and Quality Systems 

• Travel up to 10%
