Job Description:
Microchip is currently seeking a Benefits Principal Specialist for our Chandler, AZ Human Resources Department. Hybrid options may be available.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with onsite Sr. Benefits Manager on corporate benefit projects
Skilled in resolving complex benefits related issues and providing solutions
Ensure compliance of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
Conduct new hire orientation to ensure employees gain an understanding of our benefit programs
Assist with the yearly US benefits open enrollment
Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve benefit related issues
Day to day contact for all employees with benefit related questions and counsel employees on benefit plans
Manages the inhouse leave of absence process including possessing strong knowledge of federal and state leave laws.
Oversee employee benefit events and assist with wellness activities
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in a Benefits position
Demonstrated ability to multi-task successfully
FMLA/Leave of absence & ADA experience required
Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA
Experience with Workday is preferred
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail needed
Excellent communication skills required
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
