Role Title: Market Insights Analyst
Location: Melbourne, Vic
Hours: Full-time
Reporting to: Consumer & Market Insights Director - Mars Pet Nutrition Australia
The Market Insights Analyst, is responsible for reporting on, and analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape to derive powerful, data driven Insight, presented compellingly, that supports strategic decision-making. The role works closely with category and consumer insights, marketing and sales to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
What you’ll do:
Be accountable for the design and delivery of Mars sales data reporting suites to the Portfolio, Sales and Leadership teams allowing tracking of key performance indicators in a timely and efficient manner.
Conduct Ad-Hoc analysis of data using multiple data sources (e.g. Circana, Shopper Panel, Quantium, Financial and bespoke research etc), to identify trends and patterns.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Create and maintain a powerful data reporting suite and the databases that they are derived from to efficiently track key performance indicators (KPIs). Including defining data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modelling and visualization.
Assist the Strategy & Consumer Insights lead in preparing market context analysis for Strategy Days and Global visits with the skill to powerfully visualise data to support strong storytelling and persuasive findings.
What you need to bring:
A Bachelor's degree in either Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science
2+ years experience in data management or analytics roles ideally gained in an FMCG or retail/grocery business
Demonstratable experience in the analysis of a range of internal & external data sources, drawing out key insights and forming recommendations on the basis of solid commercial knowledge with links to business strategy.
Superior analytic tool skills including strong Excel, Data Visualisation and statistical analysis experience, power BI reporting skills and/or SQL skills well regarded
Preferred: 2+ years working experience with sales data such as Circana, Quantium, Synergy
