Purpose:

The DiNitto Career Center at the School of Social Work, University of Texas at Austin, is looking to hire a Career Services Graduate Assistant. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in the dynamic field of social work, while playing an integral role in providing key career services support. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provides administrative support for in-person and virtual workshops, events, service learning and career development-related activities 

  • Places orders and reconciles paperwork for catering and other related event costs 

  • Administers and oversees lending of LBSW, LMSW, and LCSW licensure study guides and online preparation tests for current students and recent alumni 

  • Manages updates of online career licensing materials, handouts, on DCC website 

  • Assists in technical aspects, troubleshooting, and coordinating virtual event logistics to enhance the overall effectiveness and accessibility of online sessions 

  • Manages emails received in the DiNitto Center's mailbox 

  • Provides support for data collection and analysis on first destination survey data, alumni career and engagement data and career services student satisfaction survey  

  • Maintains and organizes DiNitto Center files (current and archives)  

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications 

  • Enrolled graduate student at UT Austin 

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA 

  • Strong professional communication, administrative and customer service skills 

  • Experience with providing event and workshop support 

  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Qualtrics and Canva 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 

  • Attention to detail 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Enrolled graduate student at School of Social Work at UT Austin  

  • Familiarity with online database management, social media outreach, and career service platform 12Twenty 

  • Experience with ordering catering and/or supplies for workshops/events 

  • Office experience, graphic design experience using Office Suite apps and Canvas a plus. 

  • Has a customer service-oriented attitude and is committed to displaying a positive attitude towards co-workers and clients (students, guest speakers/panelists and alumni) 

  • Able to work independently and take initiative in learning policies/procedures and completing tasks 

  • Experience/interest in working in a university setting is very helpful but not required 

 

Salary Range

            $21.49 hourly / 20 hours per week

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Austin, TX

  • May work around standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Use of manual dexterity.

  • Availability Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
