Description:

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is actively seeking a per diem Patient Transporter to join our team!

Position: Patient Transport

Job Type: Part Time, 20 hours per week

Schedule: Day Shift including weekend and holidays

Department: Central Transport

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

As a Patient Transport you will:

  • Transports patient throughout the hospital

  • Observes for and reports safety hazards and broken vehicles to the Lead Transporter for immediate repair.

  • Transports patients on stretchers, beds and wheelchairs from one area of the hospital to designated area within the hospital campus, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient being transported.

  • Promptly reports any concerns of patients and/or happenings during transport to appropriate personnel.

  • Cooperatively assists in lifting patients in and out of bed as requested, exercising proper lifting techniques.

  • Cleans wheelchairs and ensures each area has an adequate number.

  • Keeps incident log of transports.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent

  • CPR Certification - issued by AHA (completed in onboarding if offered the position)

  • Fingerprint & Child Abuse History Clearance (completed in onboarding if offered the position)

  • 1-year prior hospital experience desired
