About the role

Overview

As Microsoft continues to lead innovation in productivity, the Organic Growth team helps millions of customers discover and engage with products through high-quality, SEO-driven content experiences.

We are hiring a Growth Senior Content Program Manager to drive execution across Microsoft's web ecosystem, including Copilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Clipchamp.

This role owns and scales the content execution engine powering organic growth. The Growth Senior Content Program Manager is accountable for how content is delivered across the organization, ensuring programs are executed effectively through strong editorial standards, clear governance and efficient operational processes.

The role operates as a force multiplier, directly contributing to high-impact initiatives while enabling the broader team to deliver through systems, standards, coaching and operational excellence. The majority of the role's impact comes from empowering others to execute successfully and improving how content operations function at scale.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

Own the content execution engine

  • Drive end-to-end delivery across the content lifecycle (brief → publish → refresh)

  • Ensure consistent throughput, quality and timelines across a distributed contributor model

  • Step into critical work where needed but primarily enable others to execute successfully at scale

Lead content quality and standards

  • Define and uphold editorial standards across all content

  • Ensure outputs meet quality, SEO and consistency requirements before publishing

  • Act as the escalation point for quality decisions and trade-offs

Build and scale workflows

  • Design and continuously improve workflows across briefing, production, QA and publishing

  • Standardize templates, checklists and tooling to reduce variability

  • Partner with Ops and engineering to scale through automation (rather than manual oversight)

Drive execution excellence

  • Track pipeline health (throughput, quality, timelines, dependencies)

  • Identify delivery risks early and drive resolution

  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders without becoming a coordination bottleneck

Translate strategy into execution

  • Turn strategy into clear, actionable plans (briefs, content plans, deliverables)

  • Ensure alignment to intent, audience and success metrics

  • Use performance insights to improve execution over time

Act as a multiplier for the team

  • Raise the bar on quality, clarity and consistency across all contributors

  • Coach writers and PMs on briefs, structure and execution standards

  • Increase team output and autonomy without increasing management overhead

Build AI-first content systems

  • Create structured knowledge bases (briefs, taxonomies, QA rules, templates)

  • Develop reusable context layers to support AI-assisted workflows

  • Partner with Ops to operationalize AI-first and agentic content production

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in content operations, editorial, SEO or program management (or equivalent scope)
  • Proven experience managing and scaling content workflows or editorial systems
  • Strong editorial judgment and experience driving content quality at scale
  • Experience working with CMS platforms and content publishing pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive improvements across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SEO-driven content environments or growth teams
  • Experience designing QA frameworks or governance systems for large content sets
  • Familiarity with content automation, templates and scalable content production models
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on tooling or CMS improvements
