Private Duty Nurse (RN/LPN) – 1:1 Home Care

Job Summary

Centria Healthcare is hiring compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide 1:1 private duty nursing in patients’ homes. You’ll deliver skilled, personalized care to pediatric and adult patients in a low-stress, relationship-based setting.

Care Requirements & Personality

Our client is a 63 year old man who was in a motor vehicle accident in the 90's. Currently he is in hospice and bed-bound. He lives in a clean, smoke free home with his wife and 3 cats in Mt Pleasant. He is a fan of sports, enjoys watching tv and playing games like solitaire, tic tac toe, and word searches.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Care: Main responsibilities will include Tube feeding and he has a history of hypopituitarism and multiple complex comorbidities.
  • Safety Precautions: His medical status puts him at high risk for an adrenal crisis, particularly from stressors like infection.

The Home Environment

  • Supportive Family: The client’s wife is known for being exceptionally kind and easy to work with, fostering a respectful professional atmosphere.
  • Environment: Very neat and clean home
  • Pet Status: 3 cats

Schedule & Availability

We are looking to fill the following 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM shifts:

  • Saturday and Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care (trach/vent care, medication administration, catheter care)
  • Monitor and document patient condition and vital signs
  • Communicate with families and care teams
  • Maintain safe, high-quality, patient-centered care

Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time and part-time shifts available
  • Day, night, and weekend shifts
  • Weekly pay + optional daily pay

Qualifications

  • Active RN or LPN license in the state of Michigan
  • Home care or private duty experience preferred (not required)
  • Trach/vent experience a plus (training provided)
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Patient Population

  • Pediatrics (birth–21 years)
  • Adults with complex medical needs
