Job Description:
Microchip Technology Inc. has a Technician I-Product/Test opening based in our Austin, TX office. Seeking a self-motivated technician for the Timing and Communication Product Group. The successful candidate will work with experienced product and test engineers as an individual contributor in a team environment assisting in product development and testing for cost reductions and new product releases of SyncE/1588 timing, Clock Distribution and Frequency Synthesizers.
Responsibilities:
Working with a team of New Product test and product engineers, you will:
Procure, maintain, and repair lab and tester hardware
Support testing activities and operation of IC Automated Test Equipment and handlers for customer sampling, characterization, correlation, qualification, and customer returns
Provide statistical analysis of production and engineering test data
Analyze product parametric performance relative to data sheet specifications
Write and verify program scripts
Conduct IC stress evaluations
Requirements/Qualifications:
Associates degree in Electronics with 0-2 years of industry experience
Experience with Lab equipment such as power supplies and oscilloscopes
Experience with PC board debug and repair
Self-motivated, able to work independently, excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to excel in a multi-disciplinary team environment across multiple locations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with use of the standard MS-Office applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IC Automated Test Equipment
Knowledge of semiconductors, characteristics of electronic semiconductor devices, and statistics
Software programming
