Why is this role important to us?
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, controlling, and compliance activities for one or more SimCorp legal entities. This position is responsible for timely, accurate month‑end and year‑end closes, adherence to IFRS and local statutory rules, and well‑maintained internal controls aligned with SimCorp’s Internal Control System (ICS). The Financial Controller works closely with Global Finance, Tax, and local stakeholders, and contributes to finance transformation initiatives, including process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the finance organization.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Financial Reporting & Closing:
Ensure financial reporting in accordance with:
Group accounting principles
IFRS
Local accounting standards (where applicable)
Participate in the month‑end closing
Prepare year‑end reporting to the parent company
Perform analytical reviews of results, follow up on conclusions, and manage controlling activities
Controlling & Internal Controls
Ensure good internal controls in global finance processes
Perform controlling reviews of accounting journal entries
Review:
Balance sheet reconciliations
Entries related to new contracts or new business assets
Tax & Compliance
Maintain control over local tax and VAT reporting
Support compliance with local statutory requirements.
Audit & Policies
Support Group audit, including preparation of audit documentation.
Participate in maintaining:
Group accounting policies and guidelines
Implementation of new IFRS standards
Collaboration & Projects
Communicate and collaborate across SimCorp’s Global Finance Management organization
Participate in finance projects and ad‑hoc tasks
What We Value
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
CPA with solid financial accounting and controlling skills
Are comfortable learning and applying IFRS
Can thrive in an international, multi‑entity setup
Operate well in a matrixed, global finance organization
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Workday and SAP
Advanced Excel abilities with experience in data validation and reconciliation.
Exposure to project management tools is a plus.
Knowledge:
Understanding of financial regulation across key APAC countries.
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Other requirement
Able to work in a hybrid setup (4days/ week onsite), flexible to APAC and EMEA timezones
