SUMMARY

The Feedstock Distribution Sr Specialist reports to the Director of Feedstocks and is responsible for scheduling the supply of natural gas

liquids (NGLs) to Westlake's plants. The position works closely with the Feedstock team to ensure reliable and low-cost supply of NGLs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee all aspects of scheduling, distribution, and storage inventory management for Westlake's NGL supply in a cost-effective, safe, and reliable manner.
  • Act as a primary interface with plant operations and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and logistics issues.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, pipeline operators, and key vendors.
  • Identify and communicate supply issues requiring action to operations and commercial management in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate all NGL nominations and deliveries with plant operations, including in times of emergency such as hurricanes.
  • Track daily receipts and deliveries, entering data, and generating reports in Westlake's ETRM system and SAP.
  • Publish and communicate regular reports on current and projected inventory position, value creation, and other key metrics as required to management.
  • Understand and proactively communicate to internal customers the logistics and storage impacts of purchases, sales, exchanges and operating rates.
  • Work closely with accounting during monthly close process and to resolve invoice or purchase order discrepancies.
  • Cross-train with other Supply Specialists to provide back-up coverage to other areas. 
  • Performs any additional responsibilities or tasks, including ad-hoc analysis projects, as assigned.
  • Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description, and any other job responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • This role does not have direct or indirect supervision responsibilities of Westlake or contract personnel at this time, but significant coordination activities across functions and with Westlake plant sites.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, business or finance is required. 
  • Specific training in procurement, supply and logistics, procurement, or operations strongly desired.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in scheduling and distribution or other relevant work experience is required.
  • Working proficiency with SAP, an ETRM system (e.g. RightAngle, Allegro, etc.), and Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Working knowledge of midstream energy infrastructure, pipelines, and NGL markets is required.
  • Understanding chemical process operations, distribution and storage, purchasing, and accounting for feedstocks, and plant logistics is strongly desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.  15% travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
