The Sonographer obtains high-quality images while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality.

ATTRIBUTES
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification required (within six (6) months of graduation from an accredited program, within one (1) year of graduation from a non-accredited program).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ultrasound Scans. Perform abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans; produce ultrasound images and obtain all required measurements; assist attending physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
Documentation. Note performance of scans in patient charts and complete preliminary reporting; phone preliminary reports into doctors’ offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
For Radiology sites/affiliates with ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (within 6 months of graduation from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Programs (CAAHEP), or within 18 months of graduation from a non-accredited program).
For Neurovascular & Vascular, the RDMS is not required.
