About the Role:
This role requires managing the Multi-Tenant Platform Services in a challenging production environment of critical banking applications. Expected to take complete accountability & responsibility over deliverables – Platform Support & Resiliency, Upgrades / Migration / Vulnerability Management, Automation & Instrumentation, Resiliency & Performance Management, Process Adherence & Improvement. Should have extensive experience on one or more of these technologies - Big Data/Hadoop (Map R/Hortonworks), ETL Tools (Abinitio/Informatica/Talend), Database (Teradata/Oracle Exadata/SQL Server/Hive/Aster), Middleware (Weblogic/Tomcat), etc. Should be proficient on the ITIL processes Incident/Problem/Service/Release Management and have hands-on experience in triaging, troubleshooting & fixing complex technical issues. Should be a people manager with good decision-making skills and focused on Partnership / Stakeholder Management.
In This Role, You will:
- Challenging platform management role involving Platform Support & Resiliency, Service Delivery & Maturity, Root Cause Analysis, Automations, Solution Proposals, etc.
- Accountability & responsibility over deliveries - Platform Upgrades / Migration, Vulnerability Management, Automation & Instrumentation, Resiliency & Performance Management, Process Adherence & Improvement, Decision Making with Partnership / Stakeholder Management
- Production & Platform support involves being on standby for providing 24x7 support & responsible to maintain high availability of the systems & applications
- Responsible for Change & Release Management by being a gatekeeper and ensuring change/release issues are controlled through early engagement and efficient reviews
- Support the most complex technical issues & initiatives (Upgrade/Tech Refresh) for large-scale applications/systems/databases/other technical products/services.
- Development of technical support strategies & plans / Automation & Instrumentation to enable efficiency in restoration & stability
- Works on complex problems, debugging & propose solutions where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of complex business problems.
- Directs gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware, software and tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets
- Perform complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and/or configurations
- Perform Problem Management by identifying recurring/chronic issues, identify improvement areas & implement innovative/viable solutions that can result in operational efficiency/benefits.
- Provides the ongoing operational support for the multi-tenant platforms assuring platform health for scheduled batch loads / processes on time
- As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems. Leads projects and manages the work of less experienced staff.
- Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain
- Ability to handle constantly changing priorities, remain productive and be able to multitask effectively during busy times
- Efficient communication with application stakeholders about application availability & platform updates including any application outages, issues, failures, availability delays etc.
- Ready to work in shift hours that spans between 6 AM to 10:30 PM IST & should be flexible to work on weekends.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of Leadership experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in production management and platform operations along with people management
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Data technologies – Big Data/Hadoop (Map R/Hortonworks), ETL Tools (Abinitio/Informatica/Talend), Database (Teradata/Oracle Exadata/Hive/Aster) & Monitoring tools (ITRS, App Dynamics, Splunk, ELK, etc.)
- Strong exposure & experience on ITIL & SRE Processes (Incident, Problem, Release, Change, Knowledge, Vulnerability, Service Management, Automations, Observability, etc.)
- Hands-on experience (2-4 years) in managing layered products and associated platforms
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in the BFSI industry and managing banking applications
- Certification on one of the cloud technologies (Google/Azure/AWS)
- Scheduling Tools (Autosys/Control-M), Middleware (Weblogic/Tomcat/Java), etc.
