This position reports directly to the Global Integrated Operations Leader while taking functional guidance from the Global Technology Director.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Technology Leadership

  • Lead Manufacturing Technology activities to support new product introduction (NPI), process scale-up, and technology transfer into commercial manufacturing.

  • Ensure manufacturing processes are designed and executed to meet critical-to-quality (CTQ), regulatory, and customer requirements.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with site and segment operational performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery,  inventory, productivity).
  • Lead efforts in yield improvement, process capability enhancement, and waste reduction across manufacturing operations.
  • Support validation and qualification of new equipment, tooling, automation, and processes.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Technology Development (TD), R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless product lifecycle execution.
  • Provide strong manufacturing input during early development to enable design for manufacturability (DFM) and robust scale-up strategies.

People & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Technology teams to build strong technical depth and execution capability.
  • Strengthen manufacturing technology competencies across Spectrum sites, including standardization and best practice deployment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and collaboration.

Governance & Execution

  • Support portfolio execution through disciplined project management, risk identification, and mitigation for manufacturing-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline with 15+ years of industry experience, ideally in the medical device manufacturing industry.
  • Significant experience in medical device manufacturing technology, process engineering, or industrialization within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in new product scale-up, technology transfer, and manufacturing capability development.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience within Healthcare, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D.) in Engineering or Science.
  • CDMO experience in plastics
  • Proven track record of leading global or multi-site manufacturing technology teams.

Key Success Factors

  • Ability to translate development intent into robust, scalable manufacturing solutions.
  • Strong execution mindset with balanced focus on speed, quality, and sustainability.
  • Credibility as a technical leader who can influence across functions and geographies.

Location: Flexible within Healthcare manufacturing footprint (site-based with global interaction)
