Our cardiothoracic surgeons, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, are recognized experts who work collaboratively with PAs across a full spectrum of advanced cardiac procedures, including CABG, valve repair and replacement (including TAVR), aneurysm repair, arrhythmia ablation, ECMO, and more.

Role Details

We are seeking skilled Per‑Diem Physician Assistants to support both the Cardiothoracic Operating Room and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU). In this role, you will be part of a highly autonomous and respected PA team, caring for post‑operative and critically ill cardiothoracic patients and supporting essential service coverage across all shifts.

CTICU PAs manage a wide range of complex clinical situations, including ECMO, mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support, and advanced cardiac monitoring—integral components of caring for our high‑acuity surgical population.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in CTICU and/or Cardiothoracic Surgery Operating Room settings

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State PA licensure
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • NYS Infection Control certification
  • DEA Certification and compliance with NYS Opioid Prescriber training requirements
