BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Manager, Supply Chain (Purchasing) Senior (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal. 

Key Accountabilities: 

Position Summary 

Lead the development and management of certain global/regional commodity strategies designed to leverage BW collective purchasing power and maximize synergistic opportunities to optimize supplier performance, reduced total supply costs while meeting our technology expectations throughout the supply chain. Ensure commodity plan deliverables meet designed strategies. Negotiate key supplier contracts. Provide global leadership in the communication, implementation, coordination, and enforcement of commodity strategies. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

• Oversees/Manages and leads a small team of direct reports 
• Manage talent within team including conducting performance reviews 
• Develops supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements 
• Provides guidance and approval of basic supplier agreements 
• Coordinates supplier relationship with internal functions (i.e. trouble shooting) 
• Delivers budget, 
• forecasts and LRP – Long Range Plan,  for their area of responsibility 
• Responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of location(s) specific strategies and commodity forecasts 
• Ensures cost and performance objectives in line with existing strategies 
• Responsible for talent/organization development 
• Develop and implement business process improvements

Education & Experience 

• Same as Entry level manager plus 
• 10 plus years of experience 
• Ability to supervise a group of mid or senior level purchasing professionals and/or entry level manager 
• Strong functional and technical Skills 
• Ability to travel 50% of the time 
• Proficient in English 
• University Diploma in related discipline or equivalent experience 
• Ability to provide functional leadership 
• C.P.M. Certified Purchasing Manager is a preferred certification
