About the role

Strength in Trust

OneTrust’s mission is to enable innovation through the responsible use of data and AI. We believe that ensuring data is trusted shouldn’t slow teams down—it should accelerate what’s possible. This led us to develop the first technology platform for responsible data use in 2016. Today, with AI representing the latest and most impactful expansion of data yet, OneTrust is once again redefining what responsible innovation looks like. OneTrust, the AI‑Ready Governance Platform™, unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows so businesses can continue to move at the speed of AI while ensuring good governance to prevent data misuse at scale. Trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide, OneTrust is shaping the future where trusted data becomes a transformative force for business and society.

The Challenge

We are looking for a Principal Solutions Engineer to lead the technical strategy behind our most complex AI and data governance opportunities. You will work directly with enterprise customers to design how they govern AI and data in practice, not just in policy. You will lead high-impact deals, influence executive stakeholders, and help position OneTrust as a leader in AI governance.

At the same time, you will help raise the level of the entire Solutions Engineering organisation by building repeatable approaches that scale beyond our own deals.

Your Mission

  • Own technical strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals and partner closely with Account Executives to drive deal progression and win outcomes
  • Engage senior stakeholders including CIO, CISO, AI, Risk, and Data leaders in high-impact conversations
  • Design end-to-end AI and data governance solutions, translating fragmented requirements and regulatory expectations into scalable architectures and workflows
  • Lead deep discovery, clearly position against alternatives, and deliver POCs that demonstrated both technical fit and business value
  • Build reusable solution patterns, demos, and best practices that scale across the organisation, while mentoring and enabling other SEs
  • Act as a bridge between field, product, and leadership, bringing customer insight to shape GTM strategy and market positioning

What Success Looks Like

  • You lead the most strategic opportunities in the business
  • You consistently improve technical win rates in complex deals
  • You shape how customers think about AI governance, not just how they buy software
  • You leave behind assets and approaches that improve performance across the team

Your Experience Includes

  • 10+ years in Solutions Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Technical Sales
  • Strong experience working with enterprise customers on complex software decisions
  • Strong technical grounding in SaaS, cloud, APIs, and enterprise integrations
  • Background in one or more of: AI, data, security, privacy, risk, or compliance
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field

You Are

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to solve problems that do not have a playbook yet
  • Able to move between technical depth to executive conversation without losing credibility
  • Commercially aware, with a clear understanding that pre-sales is about winning business, not just explaining technology
  • Focused on building things that scale, not just succeeding individually
  • Fluent in English, with another language considered a plus
  • Willing to travel as needed

Where we Work

We are embracing an office-first culture, encouraging three days a week in office for most roles, with meaningful opportunities to collaborate and celebrate in person.

Each role may have specific requirements or flexibility depending on the scope of the position, so we encourage you to verify this with your recruiter during your first interview.

Benefits

As an employee at OneTrust, you will be part of the OneTeam. That means you’ll receive support physically, mentally, and emotionally so that you can do your best work both in and out of the office. This includes comprehensive healthcare coverage, flexible PTO, equity RSUs, annual performance bonus opportunities, retirement account support, 14+ week
