About the role
Reporting to the Regional Marketing Leadership, the VMM Municipal – Market Development Municipal Water is responsible for driving growth across municipal wastewater and drinking water markets in Europe. You will be part of a team of Vertical Marketing Managers across EMEA, working collaboratively across industrial and municipal segments. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, but with high visibility and influence across the organization This role plays a critical strategic function by identifying market opportunities, shaping go-to-market strategies, and influencing cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, R&D) to ensure continued market leadership in wastewater and accelerated growth in drinking water. You will act as the voice of the customer, translating market insights into actionable strategies that impact commercial success, product development, and long-term positioning.
At Hach, we support flexible and remote work environments. This role is fully remote within Europe, with regular travel (40%) to customers, events, and internal meetings.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Acting as a subject matter expert in municipal wastewater and drinking water markets
Analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities
Defining and influencing regional marketing and commercial strategies
Providing voice-of-customer insights to Product Management and R&D teams to support innovation
Collaborating closely with Sales Leaders, General Managers, and Engineering firms across Europe
Building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the industry
Supporting complex customer challenges by identifying solutions that drive efficiency and cost optimization
Contributing to the development of marketing campaigns, messaging, and positioning
Representing Hach at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions, including presenting technical content
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or application roles within municipal wastewater and/or drinking water markets
Proven ability to analyze markets and translate insights into strategy and actions
Strong experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences, including large groups
Fluency in English (written and verbal)
Willingness to travel up to 40% across Europe
