About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Market Data Business Analyst to support the firm’s enterprise market data function across Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, and Retail Brokerage businesses. The role requires deep market data expertise, strong business analysis capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively within a large financial institution. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how market data supports revenue generation, risk management, and client service while maintaining strong controls and cost discipline.

In this role, you will:

Market Data Business Analysis & Advisory

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for market data across asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, rates, commodities, derivatives, and indices

  • Partner with front‑office, risk, compliance, finance, and operations stakeholders to understand market data requirements and translate them into clear, actionable business requirements

  • Advise stakeholders on data availability, vendor options, licensing considerations, and cost implications

  • Actively use Artificial Intelligence tools to improve efficiency, effectiveness and work output

Market Data Governance & Controls

  • Support firmwide market data governance programs, including inventory management, entitlement models, and usage oversight

  • Ensure market data usage aligns with vendor contracts, firm policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Contribute to internal audits, vendor audits, regulatory inquiries, and compliance reviews related to market data

Vendor & Commercial Management Support

  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Third-Party Risk Management on market data vendor evaluations, renewals, negotiations, and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Assist in analyzing market data spend, usage patterns, and chargeback models across lines of business

  • Support vendor proofs of concept and comparative analysis to ensure data solutions meet business and technical requirements

Technology & Data Enablement

  • Work closely with Technology teams supporting trading platforms, pricing engines, analytics, reference data, and distribution tools

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of experience in market data, financial data management, or business analysis within a financial services firm.

  • 4+ years of experience with market data vendors, products, and licensing models

  • 4+ years of experience supporting front‑office, risk, compliance, or finance functions in a regulated environment

  • 4+ years of experience gathering, documenting, and managing complex business requirements

  • 4+ years of experience and developed analytical skills working with usage data, contracts, and cost analytics

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, or Brokerage businesses

  • Familiarity with market data management or entitlement platforms

  • Experience supporting vendor negotiations or responding to data vendor audits

  • Experience in large, complex financial institutions with multiple lines of business

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Strong Microsoft Office and AI Prompting skills

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
