About the Role
Your role as a Business Intelligence Associate is to work with the product and machine learning team to automate the process of manual forecasting and identify the root causes. You are expected to detect anomalies/issues early, identify root causes, track revenue and spend trends on an hourly/daily/weekly/monthly basis against the forecast. Coordination with multiple teams to fix problems with rollouts/ releases and ensure leadership always has an accurate view of performance.
What You'll Do
- Monitor the health of the business via tools such as our anomaly detection software and other dashboards, and keep cross-functional stakeholders aligned on the health of key input metrics.
- Hourly and daily (Real-time monitoring): Monitor the hourly trend continuously.
- Revenue declines must be assessed to find the root cause and verify if the decline is associated with any product release.
- Allocate the identified cause to the corresponding teams and assess the next actions.
- Inform the Network Operations Center team to trigger P1/P2 alerts based on the severity of the revenue decline.
- Weekly (Medium Term Monitoring): Own the revenue forecasting process and provide executive updates
- Define variance thresholds that trigger deeper analysis to understand reasons behind movements of key dimensions.
- Investigate any metrics that show signs of decay or are deviating from the norm and find the root cause.
- Monthly (Long Term Monitoring): Lead the monthly review process with Marketplace, Product, and Engineering stakeholders to track the key drivers of our spend on an ongoing basis.
- Be intimately involved in the quarterly and annual planning process and be aware of what assumptions went into the plan.
- Act as the project manager of investigations. Cross-functionally manage workstreams with account stakeholders to complete analyses and troubleshooting
- Executive Communication: Share insights and learnings on long-term and short-term trends with a broader set of stakeholders to inform strategic planning and GTM execution.
- Provide regular updates on Steering Committees. Revenue Monitoring Process Improvement.
- Reduce “blind spots” by developing new monitoring frameworks and incorporating new data sources into existing monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with Product Management and external vendors to improve existing anomaly detection solutions, based on KPI performance.
- Rollout and Recovery Tracking: Work closely with the monetization product team to track and quantify the impact of product releases.
We'd Love for You to Have
- Proven 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, or a similar role, is preferred.
- Technical skills such as Excel, Looker, MYSQL, forecasting, impact measurement, AB Testing, are a must.
- Knowledge of Excel macro/VBA, Python, and Ad Tech experience is good to have.
- Experience with GenAI-based tools like Cursor and Claude will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of data manipulation and analysis.
- Familiarity with anomaly detection techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning methods, time-series analysis, and outlier detection algorithms.
- Understanding big data technologies and tools like Hadoop, Spark, or cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
- Problem Solving - Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with ambiguous data.
- Communication Skills - Ability to present complex findings in a clear, concise, and actionable way to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail - High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.
- Shift Timings - 4.00 PM to 1.00 AM
- Understanding big data technologies and tools like Hadoop, Spark, or cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
Qualification:
- Should have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
