The Role

As an Industrial Electrical Estimator (Medium Voltage), you will develop detailed, competitive estimates for complex industrial electrical projects typically involving 13.8kV and above systems. Your focus will be on heavy industrial and mission-critical facilities, including:

  • Data Center Mechanical Yards
  • Hydroelectric Generation Facilities
  • Oil & Gas Processing, Compression, and Pipeline Facilities
  • Power Generation and Energy Infrastructure Sites

You will be responsible for understanding constructability, equipment requirements, labor productivity, and risk unique to medium-voltage industrial work—while collaborating closely with operations, project management, and subcontract partners.

Accuracy, speed, and technical understanding are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze bid specifications, drawings, and scope documents for medium-voltage industrial electrical projects.
  • Develop accurate, work-ready cost estimates for MV distribution systems, switchgear, duct banks, grounding systems, and power infrastructure.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing specific to industrial and MV electrical scopes.
  • Partner with Project Managers and construction leaders to align estimates with execution strategies and field realities.
  • Identify project risks, constructability challenges, logistics impacts, and schedule considerations typical of heavy industrial environments.
  • Track bids from initial takeoff through award, supporting turnover and handoff to project execution teams.
  • Maintain highly organized estimate documentation, assumptions, and pricing breakdowns.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to team-based estimates.
  • Comfortable making independent judgments while aligning with project and company objectives.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
