About the Role

The Project Operations Manager is responsible for end-to-end project management of both small and large programs. This includes overseeing event lifecycles, event scopes and budgets, onsite staffing and logistics, vendor management, and ensuring successful execution of all deliverables. While the role is primarily remote, travel for meetings, site visits, and events is required (up to 15 consecutive nights for large programs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full event lifecycle, including proposals, MSAs, and SOWs.
  • Create and own key deliverables: budgets, timelines, decks, schedules, briefing documents, and change orders.
  • Coordinate internal and client meetings; prepare agendas, track action items to completion.
  • Support contractor staffing efforts and manage communications with onsite teams.
  • Collaborate with client teams on registration, housing, and logistics.
  • When onsite, ensure Event Operations Center is equipped, monitor radio traffic, resolve issues, support incident management, and act as primary contact.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile invoices, audit expenses, and close budgets.
  • Maintain documentation and identify process improvements.
  • Support overseeing and managing Coordinator level team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of relevant event industry experience (tech conferences/sporting events) with a proven track record of successful project management.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure while maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Skilled at prioritizing and re-prioritizing tasks as new challenges arise.
  • Comfortable developing deliverables, accepting feedback, and implementing changes quickly.
  • Experience creating, managing, and reconciling $1M+ budgets.
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).

Preferred

  • Experience with Monday.com, RainFocus, Slack, Concur.
  • Large-scale corporate conference experience (tech user conferences preferred).
  • CMP and/or PMP certification.
