Job Purpose
The ERP Delivery Manager is accountable for leading the successful delivery, implementation, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions across Castrol. The role ensures ERP products and services are delivered in alignment with business strategy, operational requirements, and technology standards, enabling efficient and standardized business processes across functions including Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
Working closely with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and implementation partners, the ERP Delivery Manager drives delivery excellence, oversees ERP roadmaps and programmes, and ensures ERP platforms deliver measurable business value while maintaining operational stability, compliance, and user satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities
ERP Delivery Management
- Lead the delivery of ERP programmes, projects, enhancements, and releases across multiple business functions.
- Develop and maintain ERP roadmaps aligned with business priorities and enterprise technology strategies.
- Ensure successful implementation of ERP solutions, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives.
- Manage delivery scope, schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, and milestones to ensure successful outcomes.
- Drive Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies to maximise business value and delivery effectiveness.
- Ensure ERP solutions are delivered in accordance with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
Business Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into ERP delivery plans.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, implementation partners, and external vendors.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other business functions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment between delivery outcomes and business objectives.
ERP Operations and Service Excellence
- Ensure ERP services operate effectively with high levels of availability, performance, resilience, and user satisfaction.
- Monitor service performance and delivery metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective incident, problem, change, and release management practices are in place.
- Support operational governance and service management processes aligned with ITIL principles.
Resource and Vendor Management
- Manage internal delivery teams, external partners, system integrators, and ERP vendors.
- Oversee vendor performance and service delivery against agreed contractual and operational commitments.
- Ensure effective resource planning and allocation across ERP initiatives.
- Foster collaborative and productive relationships with strategic delivery partners.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage ERP programme and operational budgets.
- Monitor expenditure, forecasts, and investment performance against approved business cases.
- Ensure optimal use of delivery resources and technology investments.
- Provide accurate financial reporting and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Continuous Improvement and Transformation
- Drive ERP modernization initiatives that improve business processes, operational efficiency, and user experience.
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, process standardisation, and technology innovation.
- Champion continuous improvement across ERP delivery and support functions.
- Support organizational change management and user adoption activities associated with ERP transformation.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and mentor delivery teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Develop delivery capabilities, standards, and best practices across ERP programmes.
- Promote knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
- Support the growth and development of delivery professionals and subject matter experts.
Education (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Project Management, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent professional certification.
- ERP platform certifications (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).
Experience
- Significant experience managing ERP programmes, projects, and product delivery in large, complex organizations.
- Proven experience delivering ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, and business transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ERP processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and related business functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
- Experience managing vendors, system integrators, and third-party delivery partners.
- Strong track record of budget management, financial governance, and resource planning.
- Experience managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder relationships across complex programmes.
- Preferred
- Experience leading large-scale SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Oracle ERP, or Microsoft Dynamics transformation programmes.
- Experience working within global matrix organizations.
- Experience with cloud-based ERP platforms and digital transformation initiatives.
