Job Title: Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake and modern cloud data architectures to design and lead the development of scalable, high-performance data platforms. The role will focus on implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support enterprise analytics, data governance, and advanced data use cases.
The ideal candidate will define engineering standards, and build reliable data pipelines that power reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Architecture
- Design and implement scalable data platforms using Snowflake.
- Build and maintain Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to support curated enterprise datasets.
- Develop and optimize ELT pipelines within Snowflake.
- Architect data ingestion frameworks supporting batch and near real-time data processing.
- Define enterprise data engineering standards for Snowflake.
- Drive cost governance and performance optimization within Snowflake.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain high-performance data pipelines for ingesting and transforming large-scale datasets.
- Optimize query performance, storage, and compute costs.
- Design dimensional and analytical data models.
- Develop Gold layer data marts to support BI and analytics platforms.
- Enable self-service analytics through curated datasets.
- Maintain data documentation, lineage tracking, and impact analysis.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance policies.
Leadership & Engineering Standards
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers.
- Establish coding standards, data pipeline best practices, and design guidelines.
- Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews.
- Work closely with business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.
- Support analytics and reporting initiatives with trusted and governed datasets.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Advanced SQL
