A caregiver in this position works second shift, from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with 1st shift weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the appearance of the facility.
- Service and maintain cleanliness in patient areas, offices, restrooms, patient bathrooms, conference rooms, kitchens, lounges, therapy areas and other areas.
- Follow policies and procedures on patient isolation.
- Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms.
- Maintain carts and equipment in clean, working condition and store in appropriate storage areas when finished.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Basic reading and writing skills
- One to three months on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Basic understanding of the age-specific developmental stages of patients served by the Hospital and demonstrate the ability to interact appropriately with patients of all ages
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to move/transport items weighing up to 10 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 10 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to inspect equipment
Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products
May come into contact with communicable diseases and/or body fluids
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
