Job Title: Specialist QAQC Engineer
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi and later move to Fabrication Yard for the EPC phase.
- Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance (QA)
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Prepare and review quality plans, procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs), and method statements.
- Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits and certification processes.
- Promote a quality culture and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Quality Control (QC)
- Monitor and inspect ongoing work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Review and approve material submittals and ensure conformity with project requirements.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and verifications at various project stages.
- Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented.
- Maintain accurate inspection and test records.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare QA/QC reports, inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and audit findings.
- Maintain proper documentation and records in compliance with QMS requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper documentation flow and approvals.
- Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams regarding quality-related matters.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on quality performance.
- Support engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure quality compliance.
- Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify quality risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and regulatory standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
- Minimum 15-120+ years of experience in QA/QC roles (industry-dependent).
- Experience in construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulations.
- Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to audit, inspect, and enforce quality compliance.
- Familiarity with QA/QC tools, testing methods, and inspection procedures.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor / Internal Auditor
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent
- NDT certifications (if applicable)
- Membership in recognized engineering bodies (e.g., ASQ, PMI)
- ISO 45001).
- Expertise in risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, etc.).
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and drive safety culture.
