Role Title: Consultant - Change Management
(Title can be adjusted depending on grade)
Role Overview
The Consultant – Change Management role supports senior leadership in driving change execution discipline, portfolio coherence, and governance assurance across large‑scale transformation programmes.
This role is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in enterprise change, operating model transformation, delivery governance, and adoption effectiveness, who enjoy working across multiple programmes and stakeholders. You will play a key role in strengthening change consistency, cross‑programme alignment, and operational readiness, ensuring that transformation outcomes are sustainable and embedded.
Key Responsibilities
Change Portfolio Planning & Governance
Support senior leadership and our client in managing portfolio‑level change planning, dependencies, and delivery alignment across multiple transformation programmes.
Key activities include:
- Facilitate regular cross‑programme governance and change forums, maintaining clear action tracking and decision logs
- Develop and maintain portfolio‑level change artefacts, including masterplans, dependency maps, concentration risk views, and impact assessments
- Coordinate enterprise‑wide outreach to resolve scheduling conflicts, validate assumptions, and surface emerging change risks
- Conduct scenario and impact analysis to support mitigation planning and leadership decision‑making
- Build trusted relationships with senior business, technology, and operations stakeholders to enable timely issue resolution
- Provide ad‑hoc support for regulatory, audit, or senior management requests related to change readiness and portfolio status
Change Process Design & Adoption Enablement
Support end‑to‑end change process design, ensuring clarity of ownership, consistency of approach, and alignment to target operating models.
Key activities include:
- Facilitate workshops to document current‑state and future‑state change processes, including roles, responsibilities, and controls
- Develop high‑quality process maps, swimlanes, and adoption flows aligned to Group standards
- Identify adoption risks, hand‑off gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses; recommend design or tooling improvements
- Partner closely with programme teams and Quality Assurance to ensure change plans align with solution design and delivery milestones
- Maintain a central inventory of change processes, artefacts, and version control governance
- Collaborate with Risk, Controls, and Audit teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
Change Assurance & Quality (Deep Dives)
Conduct structured change assurance deep dives on priority programmes to assess readiness, adoption risk, and governance effectiveness.
Key activities include:
- Execute structured assurance reviews across programme phases, focusing on change readiness, stakeholder engagement, and operating model alignment
- Review key artefacts (e.g. change plans, communications strategies, training approaches, governance packs) for completeness and effectiveness
- Identify gaps and risks; document findings with practical, actionable recommendations
- Engage Programme Leads and PMOs to validate facts and track remediation actions
- Prepare concise assurance summaries to support SteerCo, Executive, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain repositories of evidence, insights, and lessons learned to strengthen future change delivery
Strategic Change Resourcing & Capability Planning
Support leadership in shaping workforce and capability strategies to enable sustainable change delivery.
Key activities include:
- Analyse resourcing and capability data to identify change capacity constraints and skills gaps
- Support design of change capability target operating models, including role definitions and demand forecasting
- Provide data‑driven insights to support leadership decisions in dynamic and ambiguous environments
- Recommend process and tooling improvements to increase transparency and effectiveness of workforce planning
Key Requirements

- Change & Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to engage, influence, and align senior stakeholders across complex organisations
- Analytical & Structured Thinking: Comfortable analysing data, identifying patterns, and developing pragmatic recommendations
- Adaptability: Strong resilience and ability to operate effectively in fast‑changing transformation environments
- Proactivity: Demonstrates ownership, anticipates risks, and supports early mitigation
- Communication & Visualisation: Produces clear, high‑quality presentations and materials tailored to senior audiences
- Delivery Fundamentals: Solid understanding of transformation lifecycles, dependencies, and governance disciplines
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; comfortable working with large datasets
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Clarity, Tableau, or Azure DevOps (ADO) is an advantage
- Exposure to large‑scale transformation, change, or regulatory programmes within financial services
- Basic understanding of technology delivery lifecycles, testing phases, and operational handovers
