Job Specific Information:

As part of our commitment to Operational Excellence, we are building a new Sustaining Engineering team and are looking for a curious and driven Lead Development Engineer Data Analysis with a strong background in Life Science and a passion for data-driven problem solving.

In this role, you will take a leading position in supporting QC and Production by driving laboratory investigations and root cause analyses related to product and process performance. You will combine hands-on analytical laboratory work with data analysis to generate insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Working cross-functionally with Production, QC, and R&D, you will play a key role in resolving complex quality issues, improving analytical workflows, and ensuring robust and compliant processes. As part of a newly formed team, you will have a high level of ownership and the opportunity to shape ways of working and contribute to long-term process improvements.

The position is based at our headquarters in Uppsala and reports to the Manager of Sustaining Engineering.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Perform root cause analyses and other troubleshooting activities to resolve process- and product-related issues such as NCs, Complaints, and CAPA by providing data-driven insights.
  • Conduct trending, evaluate and interpret analytical data and other laboratory results to assess process and product performance. 
  • Develop and implement test plans to investigate or validate acceptance criteria and performance.
  • Independently perform classical laboratory analyses using established techniques and methods as well as newly developed procedures.
  • Accurately document and report test results in accordance with internal quality standards.
  • Initiate and author deviation reports and batch investigations.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and production teams to ensure proper data flow and timely analysis. 

Qualifications and Competencies 

  • MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience from the Life Science industry. 
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with classical analytical laboratory methods, e.g. HPLC, MS, MALS, spectrophotometry, etc.
  • Experience using R and/or Python is an advantage for this role. 
  • Strong skills in MS Office and data analysis tools such as Excel and other statistical software. 
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Swedish.
