Who You Are:
You are a strong communicator and storyteller, comfortable translating complex or technical topics into clear, engaging narratives and you’re excited by the challenge of helping meaningful research reach a wider audience.
You’re internet-native and plugged into how conversations happen online. You understand how ideas spread across social media, media coverage, and communities. You’re a hands-on communicator who can identify opportunities to tell a story and then help bring that story to life. You enjoy working with researchers, technical teams, and creative collaborators. You ask thoughtful questions, listen closely to how experts describe their work, and turn those insights into clear and compelling communication. You’re organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects at once while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
Most importantly, you’re excited about helping impactful AI research reach the world and contributing to a mission-driven organization working to advance AI for the common good.
This is a full-time fixed term position for 12-months from start date.
Who We Are:
The Ai2 communications team is a small, creative, mission-driven group working to amplify the voice of Ai2 in the wider world. We stay deeply informed—about our research, the AI industry, and the cultural moment—so we can shape messages that spark curiosity, create connection, and drive impact.
Our goal is to ensure Ai2 is part of the broader AI conversation. That means shining a light on the research happening across the institute, communicating it in ways that are engaging and accessible, and creating opportunities for people to connect with our work. We don’t just pass along information after the fact. Communications at Ai2 plays an active role in shaping how research is shared with the world.
This is a collaborative team that works closely with researchers, product teams, and leadership across the institute to ensure our work reflects the depth, rigor, and impact of Ai2’s research.
Your Next Challenge:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and coordinate communications strategies for research launches, announcements, and major initiatives across Ai2.
- Translate research and technical work into compelling stories for broader audiences across social media, blog posts, and other digital channels.
- Draft social media content, including threads and posts that help bring Ai2 research into the broader AI conversation.

- Coordinate timelines and logistics for communications projects to ensure launches and campaigns run smoothly.
- Organize and manage digital and in-person engagement opportunities such as AMAs, community discussions, and industry events.
- Coordinate special communications projects such as video shoots, podcast recording etc.
- Support community-building efforts that strengthen connections between Ai2 and the communities we serve.
- Run and monitor digital engagement initiatives, including advertising campaigns, audience outreach efforts and Google AdWords campaigns.
