Terminal Operations Intern

Job Summary:

The Terminal Operations Intern will support day-to-day activities at a petroleum storage and distribution terminal at our Port Everglades location. This role provides hands-on exposure to bulk liquid handling, safety procedures, logistics coordination, and regulatory compliance within the oil and gas industry. The intern will work closely with terminal operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to gain practical experience in terminal operations.

Job Description:

• Assist with monitoring and documenting product movements, including inbound and outbound shipments (pipeline, truck, rail, or marine).
• Support terminal operators in daily operations such as tank gauging, sampling, and inventory reconciliation.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, and adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
• Observe and assist with loading/unloading processes for trucks and railcars.
• Help maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to understand equipment functionality (pumps, valves, meters, and control systems).
• Assist in environmental compliance efforts, including spill prevention and response procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects.
• Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks.

Additional Job Description:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum), Industrial Technology, Logistics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in the oil and gas or energy industry.
• Basic understanding of safety practices and willingness to follow strict safety protocols.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $18.00

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
