About the role

Summary

Under the supervision of the Administrative Director - Cardiovascular Institute and Specialty Practices, performs all aspects of testing in the Pulmonary Function Laboratory including flow volume loops, Defusion Capacities, lung volumes, Resistance, and Arterial Blood Gases. Responsible for maintenance, supplies inventory, Quality Control, and calibration of instruments.

Education

An Associate degree in Respiratory Sciences from an American Medical Association approved school.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Medical Technician - NH Board of Registration of Medical Technicians

Experience

Experience in pulmonary function testing preferred, but will train qualified candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all testing in accordance with American Thoracic Society (ATS) standards.

  • Performs all bronchodilator studies in accordance to policy.

  • Calibrates and maintains instrument daily, or as required, prior to the start of patient testing.

  • Records patient's demographic information accurately.

  • Perform monthly bio-calibrations.

  • Keeps adequate inventory of drugs and supplies.

  • Reviews and corrects all orders.

  • Establishes performance goals annually.
