About the role

The Office of University Communications is looking for student workers to assist the University’s central social media team 

 

This position will involve planning and creating content for several platforms such as Instagram (including Stories and Reels), Threads, Facebook and LinkedIn. Additional responsibilities will include contributing to various marketing and social campaigns, staying on top of trends, and keeping abreast of student life events that help tell the University’s story. 

 

Student workers will serve as ambassadors of the University of Virginia as a recurring, visible presence on the institution’s social media channels. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using social platforms on behalf of a brand or institution and will have some interest or exposure in content creation, video, photography, copy writing and design.

This position is open to UVA undergraduate students only.

10-15 hrs/week.

Pay Rate: $20/hr.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
