Digital Design Lead  (Singapore)

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Digital Design Lead to lead digital IC development for cutting-edge Optical Control ICs used in AI datacenter and cloud infrastructure applications.

In this role, you will take ownership of both technical leadership and team/project execution. You will lead a team of digital designers to deliver complex mixed-signal SoCs that enable next-generation high-speed optical interconnects for AI and hyperscale datacenters. This role requires strong hands-on expertise, system-level thinking, and proven capability to drive projects across multiple milestones through tape-out.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead block-level and chip-level digital architecture definition, RTL design, and implementation for optical controller SoCs.
  • Drive key architecture and micro-architecture decisions, balancing performance, power, area, and schedule.
  • Review and approve critical RTL designs, verification strategies, and design documentation.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex design, integration, and silicon bring-up issues.
  • Own end-to-end digital design execution from architecture definition through tape-out.
  • Define and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies for digital design activities.
  • Work closely with system, analog/mixed-signal, verification, firmware, and test teams to ensure smooth integration.
  • Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact quality, schedule, or product goals.

People & Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing digital design team, providing technical direction and career guidance.

Foster a team culture emphasizing technical excellence, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular design and project reviews, ensuring accountability and high-quality execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design, with demonstrated ownership of complex IPs or full-chip designs.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in RTL design, digital architecture, and mixed-signal SoC integration.
  • Solid understanding of block-level and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
  • Proven experience in leading projects and/or managing engineers, with clear examples of driving execution and resolving technical challenges.
  • Experience or awareness of AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align technical teams and clearly communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, AI datacenter product development environment.
