Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position is to conduct ELISA and Agar Gel-Immunodiffusion diagnostic tests for the detection of Mycoplasma synoviae, Mycoplasma gallisepticum, and Avian Influenza. This position is responsible for providing test results to producers and veterinarians submitting specimens for evaluation; compiling and managing scientific data generated by serological testing; data entry into a computerized laboratory information system for reporting test results. This position performs quality control/assurance monitoring serological techniques; maintains inventory of reagents and consumables needed for diagnostic testing

Recruitment Range- $39,435- $45,000

  • General knowledge of the variety of laboratory procedures applicable to serology or other related disciplines.
  • Ability to use laboratory equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Ability to make accurate observations and written reports of findings.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution or completion of a certified laboratory assistant course in medical technology or a comparable course from an accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development diploma and two years of medical laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
