About the role
Summary:
To lead all financial planning, analysis, and control activities across the EV manufacturing plant. Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive cost efficiency, profitability, and capital effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership & Business Partnering
- Act as finance business partner to Plant Director, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain functions.
- Drive strategic decision-making through data-driven insights on cost, productivity, and investment returns.
- Lead annual plant budget, quarterly forecasts, and 5-year financial planning cycles.
- Costing & Controlling
- Manage detailed shop-wise cost centers (Body, Paint, Assembly, Powertrain, Battery, Utilities and Logistics).
- Implement standard costing, variance analysis, and shop-level cost KPIs (OEE, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, overhead absorption).
- Support SAP CO module (Product Costing, Cost Center Accounting, COPA) configuration and reporting.
- Develop and track Cost per unit (CPU) and Cost per kWh for battery assembly.
- Operational Finance
- Partner with operations to improve material utilization, energy efficiency, and labor productivity.
- Monitor manufacturing KPIs (throughput, rework, downtime) with financial impact analysis.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives through financial evaluation.
- People Leadership
- Lead and mentor manufacturing finance
- Build financial acumen across plant operations teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance.
- 15–20 years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 5 years in plant controlling
- Prior experience in automotive or EV industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Working in a greenfield or ramp-up EV plant.
