What you’ll be doing…

The Junior network engineer role involves management of devices, monitoring of services, customer support and working with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the management of our customer gateway, including changes management, incident resolution, following security protocols, and maintaining the gateways availability for our customers.

This role requires working 12-hour day and night shifts on a twenty-four-seven roster. The roster is similar to a five days on, five days off schedule (e.g., 2 days followed by 3 nights then 5 day break).

This is an exciting opportunity for entry level IT engineers, or those experienced  network engineers who want the larger range of experience working in a gateway environment.

  • Manage network changes, including the preparation and implementation of changes on gateway devices.

  • Configure network devices such as routers, firewalls, proxies, DNS servers, and load balancers.

  • Resolve incidents by troubleshooting and diagnosing unintended network traffic issues with customers.

  • Monitor health alerts generated by network systems and action them accordingly.

  • Execute Service Desk functions, consisting of allocating and prioritizing tickets based on SLA.

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, responding to requests via email or phone calls.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

  • One year of work experience in  IT or Networking.

  • One year of work experience in Linux, DNS, Firewalls, F5, VMware, Proxies and Email Gateway appliances.

  • One or more Industry certifications (Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto, Bluecoat, ITIL).

  • Active Baseline or NV1 Australian Security clearance.

  • Willingness to work on a 24x7 rotating shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays.

Even better if you have:

  • Secure Internet Gateway environments experience.

  • Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Experience in various Coding and Scripting languages.

  • Experience in Automation.

  • Experience in Visual Studio and Code Commit.

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
