The Opportunity  

This position works out of our Alajuela, Coyol location in the Electrophysiology business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. The position will be responsible of the financial accounting (taxes, financial reporting & general accounting) and manufacturing accounting (costing, budgeting & forecasting) activities for Costa Rica Electrophysiology manufacturing operations. As a member of the management team, provide support to local and divisional management in achieving the annual and long-term objectives and assists in the decision-making process by providing reliable, timely and accurate financial information. The position is also responsible for setting strong internal control systems and procedures and assuring compliance US & Costa Rica laws, regulations and statutory requirements.

What You’ll Do  

  • Financial Leadership & Business Partnership

    • Strategically lead the Finance function at site level, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies, internal guidelines, and Human Resources regulations.
    • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing finance team through clear goal setting, performance management, coaching, and continuous development.
    • Act as a trusted business partner to the General Manager and site leadership team, providing financial and non‑financial insights that drive operational excellence and informed decision‑making.

    Financial & Statutory Accounting

    • Oversee all financial accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, billing, fixed assets, construction in progress, and intercompany transactions.
    • Ensure full compliance with local statutory and tax requirements through the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all applicable tax returns and regulatory reports.

    Cost Management & Financial Planning

    • Lead site-level financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning.
    • Direct cost accounting processes, including product costing, inventory valuation, and analysis of manufacturing variances (labor, materials, and overhead), supporting cost control and profitability initiatives.

    Financial Close, Reporting & Performance Analysis

    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial closes in alignment with corporate timelines and standards.
    • Lead the preparation and communication of financial and operational performance reports, including manufacturing and overhead variance analysis.

    Internal Controls, Governance & Compliance

    • Design, implement, and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure proper segregation of duties, and support effective financial governance.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, audit requirements, and record retention standards across all finance and accounting activities.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with accounting major. or related field.

  • 10 years overall in the following:

  • Accounting, Finance and Auditing, preferably in a Director/Controller level in a multinational company. 

  • Proficiency in computer applications proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint). 

  • Full knowledge of integrated accounting cycle and information systems; past experience in both manufacturing and financial accounting required. 

  • Ability to establish systems of internal controls that comply with local and US (Sarbanes–Oxley) regulations.

  • Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish)
