Duties: Assist Principal Investigator(s) with proposal development and editing, formatting in accordance with agency guidelines, and commentary on the content and flow of the proposal. Build and maintain a library of materials needed during the grant writing process. Support stakeholders with developing, editing, and completing scientific communications (grants, manuscripts, protocols, reports, regulatory applications, abstracts, poster presentations, and other presentations). Responsible for maintaining knowledge of grant submission (pre-award) processes, approval procedures, assisting with planning and preparation of grant proposals, and post-award communication and maintenance for Nebraska Medicine. Search and identify potential funding sources to support grants or research projects.

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree required.

• Two years experience with grant writing, proposal development, and grants management required.

• Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, WebEX required.

• Ability to effectively communicate with people of different backgrounds, cultures, and educational levels required.

• Strong organizational abilities along with strong written and oral communication skills required.

• Knowledge of grant process required.

• Demonstrated project management skills required.

• Proficient with various software programs required.

• Ability to work independently, make fiscal decisions with minimal supervision, anticipate and solve problems required.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time required.

• Ability to work cooperatively with individuals at all levels required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering or related field preferred.

Analysis and monitoring of sponsored projects, budget development, effort reports, and related payroll funding charges and financial reporting preferred.

• Experience researching potential funding opportunities preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software preferred.

SAP, Cayuse, Workday, ADIS preferred.
