As a Telemetry Nurse, you’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team that plays a critical role in monitoring and managing patients with cardiac conditions. You’ll use advanced telemetry technology to detect rhythm changes and intervene swiftly making a real difference in patient outcomes every day.
- Unit Oversight & Leadership: The Telemetry Nurse oversees Centralized Telemetry operations and supervises monitor technicians (MTs).
- Assignments & Reviews: Handles shift assignments, performs random rhythm reviews, and examines telemetry documentation.
- Support & Resource: Provides rhythm interpretation and clinical guidance to MTs, Clinical Nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Patient Monitoring: Facilitates the communication of rhythm changes to unit nurses and supports the discontinuation of telemetry monitoring for patients who no longer meet criteria, thereby enhancing resource allocation.
- Evaluation & Competency: Provides feedback to MTs, participates in annual competency assessments, and reviews technical skills and rhythm recognition.
- Collaboration: Works collaboratively with nurses, C3s, directors, supervisors, and physicians to deliver safe and professional care for patients under remote monitoring.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do:
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
