About the role
The Senior Manager Global Technology – ANZ will lead our technology operations, infrastructure, and transformation initiatives across Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for overseeing the Global Technology (GT) department, ensuring the stability and security of our systems, and aligning technology solutions with business goals.
This role is pivotal in fostering strong partnerships across internal departments and with global counterparts to ensure technology solutions are aligned with business goals. What you'll do
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and maintain a long-term Global Technology (GT) roadmap aligned with both regional commercial goals and broader global strategy, encompassing cloud migrations, system integrations and workplace technology rollouts.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology opportunities that drive business growth, process automation and operational efficiency.
- Scope, plan and manage substantial capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets for major technology initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and meet corporate performance benchmarks.
Technology Operations & Infrastructure
- Ensure the reliability, security and scalability of all regional technology systems, networks and core infrastructure.
- Oversee system architecture, network administration and disaster recovery infrastructure in strict alignment with global frameworks.
- Manage the lifecycle and performance of enterprise software platforms (including ERP, CRM and HRIS) ensuring seamless integration with global applications.
- Provide strategic oversight for regional audio-visual (AV) infrastructure and event technology management.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with global information security policies, data privacy regulations and corporate governance standards.
- Design, execute and monitor regular risk assessments, disaster recovery protocols and business continuity testing across all corporate systems in the region.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies and modern practices derived from global frameworks to safeguard regional digital assets.
- Act as the primary regional accountability point for regulations, compliance benchmarks and security standards published by the global team.
Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Build, lead and inspire a high-performing technology team, fostering a workplace culture anchored in innovation, accountability and continuous learning.
- Provide executive coaching, mentorship and career development opportunities to build leadership depth within the department.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical business divisions.
- Establish, monitor and report on sophisticated key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high system availability and user satisfaction.
Project Delivery Success & Business Integration
- Partner with regional and corporate counterparts to ensure the flawless local execution of global IT project implementations.
- Execute major system migrations and infrastructure overhauls seamlessly without disrupting ongoing operations, maintaining a focus on minimised downtime and zero productivity loss across the organisation.
- Lead cross-functional project committees, bridging the gap between global technical groups and local business units to ensure regional requirements are fully incorporated into broader systems rollouts.
- Establish robust post-implementation review frameworks to measure project outcomes against the initial business case, tracking performance, security benchmarks and ongoing operational efficiency.
- Embed ITIL and Agile best practices across service delivery, support frameworks and project execution workflows.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Lead high-level vendor negotiations and manage strategic partnerships with critical third-party service providers, telecommunication partners and hardware suppliers to optimise value, service quality and commercial terms.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of complex technology projects, ensuring strict alignment with timelines, operational budgets and long-term business goals.
- Develop and manage the comprehensive technology budget, balancing operational expenditure (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx) to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Continually evaluate third-party solutions and structure robust contract frameworks that mitigate corporate risk.
Innovation Strategy
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, automation tools and media industry trends to identify opportunities that deliver an operational or commercial edge.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the strategic liaison between technology functions and business units to deeply understand operational needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Present the technology strategy and clear, data-driven updates to the ANZ Executive Leadership team in a timely and impactful manner.
- Collaborate closely with regional leadership and the Global Technology ecosystem to align local initiatives with broader corporate technology movements.
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to business units, translating complex technical requirements into practical, commercial business solutions.
- Drive high levels of user satisfaction through responsive tech support frameworks, proactive communication and continuous service improvement.
