The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Data, Analytics & Automation to join our Vascular division in Santa Clara, California.

Our Vascular business develops innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular disease.Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices and peripheral stents.

This is a fully onsite role, based in Santa Clara, CA

The Senior Manager, Global Market Data, Analytics & Automation would work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment as both an individual contributor and part of a highly collaborative team. This position will report into our Global Strategy and Insights Team, and work closely with global product marketing, commercial sales, R&D, finance, clinical, business development, and several cross-functional partners. 

What You’ll Work On

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage one direct report- Manager analytics and automation providing technical guidance, career development, and performance management.

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

    • Manage resource allocation, project prioritization, and team workloads to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.

  • Strategy, Architecture, and Analytics:

    • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust data pipelines to support analytics and market modeling, PowerBI Dashboards for existing and emerging markets across all franchises

    • Partner with Med Devices Shared Services and Global Data Science teams to ensure sustainable and scalable data management and solution delivery of analytics and operational reporting, in collaboration with key business and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Project Management:

    • Partner with key stakeholders across Vascular and other Medical Devices Divisions within Abbott including Franchise Leaders, Cross Functional Team members, Vascular Senior Leadership to translate data and analytics needs into automation and delivery of clearly articulated insights.

    • Manage the full lifecycle of modelling from conception and planning to execution and delivery including LBE and OEM cycles.

    • Deploy and facilitate robust project and data governance processes to ensure alignment with Abbott standards.

    • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.

  • Governance and Operational Excellence:

    • Ensure the data quality, integrity, reliability, and performance of all data platforms and pipelines.

    • Establish and support an organizational structure that enables effective enterprise reporting and data management.

    • Develop and manage the operational budget for the data analytics teams and associated services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Masters Degree Preferred

  • Minimum 8 years in Brand management, marketing, market research experience or related work experience.

  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment.  Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.  Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the assigned or related functions or groups. Facilitates others' participation in the continuous improvement program. Investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel within or across units or departments.  Develops and communicates a vision for the organizational unit assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

  • 8 years of experience in market modeling, data engineering, analytics, or related areas

  • 3 years in a leadership role managing analysts or analytics teams

  • Experience in Med Tech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or an academic medical center preferred

  • Strong strategic planning skills with experience developing data engineering and enterprise analytics roadmaps

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, modern data platforms (Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift), and GenAI prompt engineering

  • Expert SQL skills; R or Python proficiency a plus

  • 5–8 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, analytics, and forecasting

  • Experience in competitive intelligence roles within agency and/or industry settings

  • Prior exposure to healthcare equity research is a plus

  • Proven ability to lead analytics and visualization initiatives (Power BI, Tableau) to drive insights

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and budgets

The base pay for this position is

$130,700.00 – $261,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
