About the Opportunity
Caterpillar currently have an exciting opportunity for an EHS Associate to join the Product Support and Logistics Division in our Queensland Distribution Centre based in Yatala.
Participates in the design, implementation and maintenance of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and associated policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide Support to effectively execute all Safety Initiatives in line with our strategy
Ensure compliance with relevant Safety and environmental legislation and corporate policies
Develop, implement and review safety procedures and policies
Initiate and launch engaging safety initiatives
Perform risk assessments, manage existing/arising hazards and incidents and provide recommendations of corrective and preventative measures
Manage audit activities for the facility including safety and environmental audits, generating relevant leading indicators
Coordinate and manage safety related training with both internal and external vendors
Oversee the Emergency Safety Procedure and coordinate regular refresher training
Coordinate injury management via return to work plans as required
Conduct safety inductions and validations of Safe Work Methods
Key Skills Required
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organisation.
Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Top candidates will also have:
Minimum of 4 years experience working in a similar safety role
EH&S Qualifications (certificate, diploma, bachelor’s degree)
Additional Info:
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
