Job Title: Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Laborer

Work Location: Fort Carson - Colorado Springs

Labor Category: Non-Exempt | CBA

Clearance Level: Public Trust

Pay Rate: $19.45 per hour

Health & Welfare: $5.55 per hour


 

About the Role 

The laborer will maintain grounds of industrial, commercial and public property and will operate equipment in the completion of daily job duties.   

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Cutting grass or weeds with a mower, riding or hand, trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, weed eaters, clippers and edging tools; hand weed-pulling, raking, mulching landscapes.
  • May drive ATV’s, Kubota’s and other small equipment or Tractors; other related duties as assigned.   
  • Consistently produces quality products and service. 
  • Completes all training within required timeline. 
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

 

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some directly related experience and/or formal vocational or technical training preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background investigation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks on a continuous basis, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 feet, as well as standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold, rain, sleet, and snow, and on uneven terrain such as slopes and side hills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and perform effectively in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to maintain access to government worksites.
  • Willingness to work alternate and extended shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required to support mission needs.
  • Ability to perform on-call duties and report to work within required timeframes.
  • Must maintain all required licenses and/or credentials for the position.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record in accordance with company policy.
US Pay Range
$19.45$19.45 USD
