About the role
Axiom is seeking a People Operations Analyst to join our Chicago location. This role forms part of the People at Axiom (PAX) function and will involve execution of a range of operational processes and management of pre-employment checks for all North American legal talent and HQ candidates. This is a position for someone who connects naturally with an array of stakeholders, has strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail, and has the confidence to communicate effectively with a global workforce.
Responsibilities include:
[55%] - Processing of pre-employment checks:
- Coordinating the end-to-end management of our due diligence process for legal talent across North America. With team coverage for international locations (UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia) when necessary.
- Independently managing own workload to effectively process background checks, right to work verification, and managing pre-employment paperwork.
- Proactive decision making to resolve screening issues (e.g. data inconsistencies) and escalating to Associates or manager where appropriate to achieve 100% screening completion in all cases.
- Contributing to weekly progress meetings to review turnaround times and completion rates against agreed SLAs.
- Monitoring automated employment agreements for new hires and ensuring 100% completion rate by start date. Proactively escalating to Associate levels and Talent Success Partners to meet deadlines.
[30%] - Responsible for actioning a wide scope of operational business processes:
- Direct engagement with new hires and hiring managers to answer onboarding questions and to offer live support with onboarding completion in our HRIS, Workday.
- Daily review of onboarding progress trackers for all hired candidates in North. Responsible for daily check and chase approach to drive completion times to within 3 days.
- Daily processing of new legal talent hires in North America. Committing to 24-hour turnaround from when hires are first triggered.
- Processing absence returns and job updates for legal talent employees returning to active engagement.
[10%] - Commercial pipeline support:
- Independently managing client attestation requests, contributing to client surveys and Request For Proposal (RFP) documents, and knowing when to escalate as necessary.
- Flexible and commercially sensitive approach to workload management. Able to re-prioritize quickly to respond to, and resolve, urgent commercial requests.
[5%] - Reporting and auditing:
- Contributing to internal audits to stay ahead of client audit requests and ensure compliance with client screening requirements.
About you
- Previous experience of working towards targets/KPIs.
- Experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously, adapting to changes, and being able to creatively problem solve.
- Legally eligible to work in the Unites States of America.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (or sufficient work experience in lieu of degree).
- Highly organized and effective at managing own workload within competing deadlines.
- Confident in applying own judgement and taking initiative to deliver against targets.
- Able to follow internal process guides and repeat processes quickly with low error margin.
- Team player who can confidently develop and maintain remote relationships.
