Territory Sales Manager

Job Purpose

• To develop and grow profitable sales of Dewalt, Stanley & Irwin Handtools, Fastening tools and Storage products in a geographical territory.
• Create and exploit new profitable opportunities in the given territory.
• To manage the business between Dewalt & Stanley, Wholesale distribution and Retail customer as well as direct Customers.

• To ensure that Dewalt & Stanley are recognised as a market leading suppliers, and are established as the preferred suppliers to it’s customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify the commercial priorities on the territory.
• Create and deliver area funnels within given timescales.
• Develop relationships with major and potentially major customers.
• Create and implement a work plan that is updated weekly.
• Delivery of the Personal development plan.

Accountability

• Achieve the Sales targets set between the Territory Manager and Business Unit Manager.

• Achievement of set work goals.
• Create and implement sales plans for major Wholesalers, Indirect and direct customers on both brands.
• Control of personal expenditure.
• Selling the targeted cycle promotional campaigns and drive lines.
• Identifying new business opportunities.
• Providing QMI and ensuring delivery.

• Implementation of promotional activity and measuring results.

Competencies & Skills

• Selling and negotiating skills – Selling the brands as well as the products.
• Self motivated & priority driven.

• Ability to understand and analyse data.

• Good communication skills to Principle decision maker level.
• Ability to ‘manage up’.
• Ability to work in a structured and planned manner.
• PC literate – to intermediate level.
• Numerate.
• Team player.

• Knowledge of account management.
