About the role

Team introduction

The Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG), Greater China plays crucial roles in engaging with high-level government officials and addressing critical issues related to regional development, international trade and geopolitical dynamics.

As part of the team, the intern will support day-to-day work across government portfolios and engagement of Chinese government officials at various Forum events, including but not limited to:

Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2026.

Meetings and workshops organized by the Beijing Office in Greater China.

Internal meetings and external meetings with government stakeholders.

Data input, online research, translation and other administrative work.

Main responsibilities

Data entry and maintenance in the Forum’s data system.

Role mapping for Chinese public figures, including research on sessions that match their priorities.

Document translation (English-Chinese and vice versa).

Support Forum staff liaison work with external stakeholders.

Provide logistics support to Chinese officials during domestic meetings and workshops (badges, hotels, transportation, etc.).

Compile supporting documents and draft official request letters to government counterparts.

Follow up with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of key information.

Conduct policy research on both central and local government.

Provide logistics support to high-profile visits.

Carry out other duties as assigned.

Preferred requirements and experience

Integrity, authenticity, a frank communication style, and the ability to provide direct feedback.

Basic understanding of how the Chinese government functions is essential.

Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, with proven records.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Fast learning, multitasking, and ability to work under pressure.

Solid writing skills for professional Chinese documents.

Study-abroad experience and experience working with international organizations are a plus.
